Fall, 2008

November 10-December 6, the Webster Art Club Fall and Golden Anniversary Exhibit is being held in the Webster Public Library in Webster, NY.  My "Radishes" oil painting received the Best of Show Award in the Fall Exhibit.  "A Peaceful Spot" (watercolor) and "Sunflower-Standing Tall" (oil) are included in the Anniversary Exhibit.

Rochester Art Club Fall Juried Exhibition from November 4th-30th is being held at Barnes and Noble, 3349 Monroe Ave., Pittsford. NY.  My "Gala Apples" and "Three Irish Sisters" oil paintings were selected for this show..

My oil painting "Radishes" was selected for the Centennial International Art Exhibition 2008 in Toronto, Canada sponsored by The Arts and Letters Club of Toronto and the Rochester Art Club (September 29-October 24, 2008).

The Chili Art Group invited me to give a presentation of "My Artist Journey/ the Creative Process" on September 25th at their general meeting from 7-9pm.

New York Foundation of the Arts awarded a Strategic Opportunity Stipend (SOS) for me to study with a master poet (July-October 2008) as I focus on my poetry and integrate it with my artwork.

Spring, 2008

Stop by the Rochester Art Supply Invitational Art Exhibit at High Falls Fine Art Gallery, 60 Browns Race, Rochester, NY, from May 18-July 6, 2008. It is a showcase of regional, professional fine artists' artworks. The Opening Reception is Sunday, May 18th from 3-6pm. The High Falls Fine Art Gallery hours are 10am-4pm, Wed-Fri; 12-4pm Sat & Sun (585-325-2030). I am happy to have 2 oil paintings on display: "The Sketcher" and "Abstract Berries".

The Webster Art Club's Juried Spring 2008 Show at Barnes and Noble, 3349 Monroe Ave., Pittsford, NY is from May 2-May 30th. Please stop by and see the show. I have two oil paintings in this exhibit: "Sunflower-Standing Tall" (Jurors Award) and "Ella's Roses".

In December, I was selected to participate in the New York Foundation for the Arts' new six month MARK professional growth program for visual artists throughout NY State. The program's focus is on strategies for expanding visibility as an artist. Ten artists from our upstate NY region are attending four seminars at Rochester's Arts and Cultural Center. This program culminates in New York City during a June weekend retreat for all sixty-seven participating NY artists. I appreciate having this wonderful opportunity.

Anderson Alley Artists' Spring Fling (250 N.Goodman Street, Rochester, NY) is Friday May 2nd (5-8pm) and Saturday May 3rd (Noon-4pm). I'm an invited guest and will have giclees, notecards and my hand-painted silk scarves on display in the second floor hallway. Please stop by, tour artist studios and enjoy music and munchies at this annual "Spring Fling".
